Growing up in New Baltimore, I was taught to appreciate just how special our community truly is. Like many of you, I have come to appreciate that even more with all that is happening in the world today. The kindness, generosity, and neighborly spirit of this city are as genuine as they are unique.

An alumnus of Anchor Bay High School (2008) and the University of Michigan (2012), I returned to New Baltimore after college in hopes of putting down roots in the town that raised me. I am the proud son of Gary and Cynda Covert, youngest of three brothers (Kevin (Erin), Eric (Katie), uncle to two nieces (Addison and Vivian), and the very proud fiancé of my soon to be wife Samantha. By day I work in communications for the Detroit Wayne County Port Authority.

Samantha and I grew up in New Baltimore, and we look forward to giving our future children the same life we enjoyed in a safe, welcoming, and cared for community. This is my home. It always has been, and I'm committed to making it the best place it can be.

In my first term, I have focused on delivering results for our city, always seeking to find solutions rather than point out problems. I put my heart into this role and have taken seriously my responsibility to learn the ropes. I always strive to bring new ideas, energy, and optimism to the position.
