a leader, not a boss
For the past eight years, it has been my honor to serve our community on the New Baltimore City Council. Along the way, we've been met with challenges and presented with opportunities; each requiring leadership that knows the value of bringing people together, doing the homework, offering solutions and vision, and respecting voices in agreement and dissent. I believe I have earned that reputation among my colleagues past and present, and hope that is reflected in the view of the residents I serve.
Over the past fews months, I've thought carefully about my plans for the city's election later this year. While I considered seeking re-election to council, I have come to believe that I have something more to offer our city in leadership. Further, that there is a need for it in city hall today. It’s ultimately why I am running to be Mayor of New Baltimore in 2025.
I have the benefit of experience when it comes to understanding how we operate and where we could improve. There is one thing I can say for certain: our city needs a leader, not a boss. One who takes an action because they should, not simply because they can. One who recognizes the value in open decision making and building consensus. One who is committed to giving a seat at the table to differing views and approaches. One who seeks to foster a culture of collaboration. One who is committed to putting policies first, instead of personalities. And one who is committed to enshrining transparency and accountability in both law and in practice. I believe that I can be that leader for our city.
I hope you’ll take a look around and learn more about me, my campaign, and the future of our town. I welcome your input, questions, and ideas.
